Application Workbench
Most modifications to Aprimo Enterprise can occur with base product configuration capabilities to add attributes to base objects and screens, add tabs, modify field names, modify field layouts, and add valid values. In cases where more profound changes are required, Aprimo offers the Application Workbench.
Part of the Enterprise Marketing Backbone™, the Application Workbench is a development environment that manipulates the Aprimo User Interface and add new data objects all defined within a set of XML files. The Application Workbench does not require programming expertise or knowledge of Aprimo's XML file structure. It offers intelligent object selection, object properties, and embeddable behaviour. Changes made to the UI through the workbench take effect immediately within the application without compiling code.
Changes made to the Aprimo XML files can be tracked using version control with integration to Visual SourceSafe, or apply your own version control system to manage the XML changes. The Application Workbench provides functionality to package all modifications made to a specific environment and deploy these changes to other Aprimo environments. This package and deploy method allows for the easy migration of changes across development, test, and production environments.
